About the author

has wanted to be a writer for as long as she can remember and wrote her first (very short) book for school when she was ten. Coming in first, she won a handful of book tokens – perfect for a bookworm!
She has written articles on a variety of subjects, aswell as a book on Brighton for a Local History publisher. However, novels are what she loves writing the most. After self publishing her first novel when a contract fell through, thanks to the recession, she continued to look for opportunities.

In August 2015, she won Harper Collins/Carina UK's 'Write Christmas' competition with her romantic comedy, 'Winter's Fairytale'.

Maxine lives on the south coast of England, and when not wrangling with words loves to read sew and listen to podcasts. As she also likes cake she can also be found either walking or doing something vaguely physical at the gym.

  • Heart warming story

    What a lovely Christmas story this was, just shows you never know when and how you will meet the man of your dreams. Great storyline highly recommend this book.

    I got this as the second book from this author, I loved her first book. These are a cut above the rest of romantic novels, the characters are sensible and likeable and witty, the banter between the characters is really enjoyable and the story developed and ended in a great and believable way. I know these books are an escape and tend to be fluffy, but I find most are a bit dim and unbelievable. This one wasn't, it was witty and lovely. Read it! I hope she writes more.

    Fantastic book which I managed to read in 48 hours, even with a 20 month old and 17 week old! A warm fuzzy book which enabled me to escape reality of Mummyhood and fall in love with the believable characters. Would completely recommend! Please write a sequel 🙏

    I utterly adored this book and devoured it in a day! The main character is so real and really relatable. All the characters in fact are fab. Didn't expect to adore it quite this much! Definitely looking forward to reading more of this authors works!

    I absolutely loved this book and the festive warm fuzzies it filled me with. I fell totally in love with the characters and their stories. I definitely recommend. I just wish there were a sequel.
